I actually built this back in December, but I never got around to posting a blog entry for it until now. I’ve been on sort of a building hiatus for quite awhile now and I am trying to get back into the groove of things. I really miss building and decorating!
So may I present to you my Meloire Cafe and Residence…
This is a lot I build for A Town for Tessa, a neighborhood project honoring the passing of a little girl who loved The Sims. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed early October. So the community over at the Creative Corner section of The Sims 3 forums decided to band together to build this neighborhood as a tribute. If you would like to read more about it, here is the link to the forum thread.
This is my first build after getting the World Adventures expansion pack. Since I had already toured the destinations briefly during the simposium, the urge to build won over, so I had to get a small lot in real quick before I fully started to explore the game. I just had to use all the new asian items!
I am planning on doing a series of builds in Shang Simla, China. I started small for now. The next one I build there will be a bigger courtyard retreat. Anyway, hope you enjoy this little lot!
A Flip this Lot collaboration by jisgr8 and Anjubee. This is a lot we just finished for jklegendary. It isn’t up on the exchange, so the download for it is hosted by media fire. This is a huuuuge warehouse conversion on a 60×60 lot with 4 stories of living space. There are 5 bedrooms,… 8 bathrooms, an indoor pool, a giant media room with a 5-screen entertainment unit, a library, a 2-story art gallery, a gym, a collection room, underground garage, and a nifty zen garden feature in the entry foyer. Hope you enjoy the screens!

Wow. What a trip! It was quite an honor to be invited to this event and I thank EA for their great hospitality. The preview event was on October 29th and 30th. It was 2 whole days of all that is good. Not only did they demo the game for us, they handed out little prizes to us throughout both days and we got to spent quite a decent amount of time at our own computer stations to peek at all the new things.
My favorite part about this event was something EA tried for the very first time: live social networking to the community. I loved being able to reach the community while I was playing, who were chomping at the bits to get more information about the expansion pack, and share all the information I could live via facebook, twitter, and flickr. I think this is a brilliant idea and I hope they do this for all of the preview events.
These are my 2 entries for the Halloween Showcase.
I built an abandoned warehouse and wrote up a story to go along with it. I tried to write it in a comic book/graphic novel kind of way. I don’t do scary/gruesome too well, so the story ended up too “cute.” But I hope I managed to capture some Halloween flavor.
Big thanks to jisgr8, Amoebius, CaliforniaBound, Mmyoko, and RalphaelNinja for letting me use their avatars in my little story.
A couple of us from the Flip Team decided to do a collaborative project for Fidler’s Extreme Mansion Challenge. It was a huge undertaking and I think everything that could go wrong for each of us did, but we battled on and prevailed at the end!
The rationale to our build is that we wanted to utilize all of our strengths. We figured this type of lot would be the perfect fit for a project like this. Not only did we have SimEve’s machinima and story-telling expertise, we also had great interior designers who have their own niches, so we did our best to showcase everyone’s strengths.
Best if placed on 25 Summer Hill Court. At over 800k simoleans fully furnished, this extreme movie studio contains over 30 different sets and scenes for machinima and story tellers to use to create common scenes they may need for their stories.
We would like to give big thanks to jisgr8 and RalphaelNinja for taking the time to test our lot to make sure everything functioned properly. ❤
Some important notes:
Since this is a massive lot, please only play this lot if you have a relatively decent system.
No custom content objects were used. The only CC on this lot are patterns from each person’s own collection.
No premium store items were used except the ones that are FREE. Please take the time to download the free items if you haven’t before entering this lot.
This lot is fully playable as a residential lot. However, since this is technically a movie studio, many of the sets have objects placed as props and are for decoration purposes only.

11/21/09 Update: The latest patch to integrate the World Adventures expansion pack no longer allows for the method I used to create the hot tub. Because of this, the hot tub in this lot will probably look off. I plan on updating this lot in the future, but in the mean time, you may want to try to just delete and flatten out that area all together. =/
Here is my latest build for Build-n-Share’s NYC neighborhood project. I chose a beach modern lot since I haven’t done a modern in awhile. It was very difficult to inject NYC into this as you don’t really picture a beach house when you think of NYC. So in order to inject some NYC flavor, I decided to give the interiors a luxurious trendy feel. While it is a beach home, the interiors can also probably be seen in an urban loft in the city… or at least that’s what I’m hoping. 🙂
Please note that I used premium store items for this build. I normally don’t for my uploads, but I just had to this one time. It is so difficult not to use them when you have them in game! So I’m sorry for those who do not have the Ultra Lounge set!
11/21/09 Update: The latest patch to integrate the World Adventures expansion pack no longer allows for the shallow pool area I created out back for this lot. Because of this, you may see some distortion. I plan on updating this lot in the future. Thanks for your understanding!
Been working on this one for awhile now. I’ll have to say it’s my craziest lot yet, but it just might be one of my favorites now. This was a project I took on as a member of the Flip This Lot team. The original concept was by amchristian. She submitted this lot for our team and when I saw it, I had a vision as to what I could do to it and how it would look like. I loved the concept, but when I saw the roofing an the windows, it just felt too closed in for that “heavenly” feel she was going for. So after fiddling with it a for a few weeks, this is what I came up with…
This is a loose interpretation of Chateau de Chissay, a chateau I stayed at in France back in May for a wedding. It was gorgeous. I am glad I have improved enough as a builder to even attempt it. I have never built a castle before, so it was a challenge. This lot is also my contribution to Sunset Impressions, a Monet inspired neighborhood by the members of Builders’ Boulevard.
This castle features 6 bedrooms, a maid’s quarters, 5 full bathrooms, entry parlor, throne room, study nook, dining hall, eat-in kitchen, enclosed courtyard, and an art gallery full of custom art I had my sim paint. I know I am taking a huge risk with that as custom art like that don’t always show up correctly, but that space was challenge, so a gallery hallway was really the only thing I could come up with to fit the space.
This build took me a very long time as it did take me awhile to get it going. For a week, I stared at a blank lot, trying to build, but I just couldn’t. It took some encouragement from fellow builders to finally get the project going and to finish. I am pretty satisfied with the final product. I really hope you will enjoy it. Please note that this version has absolutely no premium items. I do plan on doing a version with premium items though as there are just so many appropriate items I could have used for this build, so look for it in the near future if you have all the store items!
