Built on 500 Sunnyside Blvd for Build-n-Share’s Centennial Vale neighborhood. This oasis features a luxurious contemporary layout with a 2-story master suite, an artist design studio/loft, open living/kitchen/dining, game room, piano sun room, a green house, a 1 bedroom pool/guest house, workout room, laundry room, a grilling deck, and gorgeous views! Fully fenced in and totally secure for 242k simoleans.
This was built specifically in mind for my avatar, so in a way it reflects a bit more of my real design preferences. It is contemporary, but I tried to add a bit of whimsy and eclectic to make it slightly more organic.
I wanted it fully fenced so it would be useful for the celeb sims, but I admit I was worried that putting in such a large fence would take away from the views and making it more cold than I wanted. I tried to soften up the fence with more landscaping, so I hope it came out ok!
Edit: I forgot to mention that there is no CC objects in this build. There is 1 custom pattern that transfer. It’s the wood floors I used on the interior. I believe it was made by TnT_Terry and I’ve used it in so many builds, I know it’s completely safe. There are a few store items, but not much.. so as long as you have all the expansion packs, including Generations, then you’re all set!
Decided to enter the latest Build-n-Share challenge this week. It’s a starter for just under 16.5k simoleans.
This cottage features a loft bedroom overlooking the cozy living room with a fireplace. The quaint cottage kitchen is just spacious enough for a small eat-in area. This house sits on a 20×20 lot with plenty of landscaping and a garden area for your sims with green thumbs. Great for expansion too! You can always take over the entire 2nd floor instead of having a loft.
Fully play tested with no CC, not even patterns. Enjoy!
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve built anything. Building in this game is kind of an extreme thing for me. It’s either I put a lot into it or I just stay away from it altogether. It’s hard to build casually.
But anyway, here I am, with a new lot! I hope you enjoy it. It is a 4 bedroom 3 and a half bath colonial style exterior. Inside, I decided not to go completely traditional and used many transitional elements to give it a more contemporary look. This spacious house also features a large eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, piano parlor, great room, laundry room, powder room, main floor master suite, a family/play room, and a fully landscaped yard with a hot tub, garden, and gazebo.
This house was built on 56 Brommer Drive in Bridgeport, but can sit on any 40×30 lot. Per usual, I did not use any CC objects except for maybe 1 CC pattern that I use frequently. There are one or 2 store items, but that is it. The rest is all from the base game and expansion packs.
Cottonmouth is my contribution to Sanshi Suimei, a Japanese-themed neighborhood. The house was built for O-Ren Ishii and her sim family. My approach to this build was imagining what O-Ren Ishii would do if she were a sim, so some authenticity had to be sacrificed. Although I definitely did try to include a lot of authentic elements in the home that are feasible for sims, such as a lush courtyard with an arched bridge over a koi pond, tatami flooring in the bedrooms, and lots of wood textures. I decided not to use pagoda roofing because I usually associate that with more grander buildings such as palaces, temples, etc.
I typically don’t like using too many store items in my builds, but since this is a neighborhood specific house and most people who will download the neighborhood would probably have these sets, I decided to use the Zen Again set and the Asian Fusion set quite liberally. If you have these 2 sets, you’re pretty much covered. I also utilized items that came free from the store if you registered World Adventures, the free set from Lunar New Year’s, and the desk from the free Weba Yafoo set.
I spent quite a bit of time on this lot. I hope everyone likes!
Built by Anjubee for the Ishii family in Sanshi Suimei. 4 Bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, this traditional Japanese home has been simified with luxury modern comforts. At 186k simoleans, this house also features lush courtyard landscaping, a zen garden, a modern kitchen, tatami flooring in all the bedrooms, and a basement with a dojo, office, utility room.
Besides a few custom patterns, no other CC was used.
2 contemporary starters, each for under 16.5k simoleans.
These 2 lots were built on 10×10 lots and are meant to be placed right next to each other for that townhouse row look. They are mirror images of each other with most of the same objects in each, but one is decorated in more masculine tones while the other is decorated in more feminine tones. It was a little challenge to myself to see if I can make 2 unique spaces using the same space and same objects on a starter budget. I hope I succeeded!
No CC items or store items were used. Only a few CC patterns.
New build. I’ve had the shell of this built since last year and I’ve been slowly decorating it the last couple of months. The major challenge in this build was the lighting in the sunken living room. No matter how many invisible lights and ceiling lights I tried to place, it still was darker than it should be. I got it to the point where it was tolerable, so it shouldn’t be too much of an eyesore. I was trying to go for a minimal modern designer look. Hopefully, I accomplished that!
This is my newest build. I felt a bit rusty since I haven’t built and decorated in so many months, but I was relatively happy with how this turned out. Granted, there were many things I could have tweaked more, but I was so excited to have a new lot to share, so I didn’t dwell on it as much as I normally would.
This was built for a BnS challenge. Addict’s SimLibs challenge was so interesting and fun, I had to participate.
This is how my SimLibs story turned out and in turn, I ended up building Heather’s Place.
She walks in with her ( 3 ) sons. This ( suspicious ) family is your next project. Upon talking with them, you find the ( O’Hara ) family has lived in Sunset Valley for ( 33 ) years. After all this time in the same house, they’ve decided it is time for a fresh start. That’s where you come in.
“ ( 3 ) months ago,” she begins, “my sons told me it was time for a/n ( sweet ) house. I told them I wouldn’t move in ( 66 ) million years! Nope, not me!” She laughs, “I recently had a bit of luck and came across ( 99 ) thousand simoleons. So of course, here we are!”
“The house we had was ( 3 ) bedrooms. This time, we’d like ( 3 ). That should be a challenge for you. We want to make sure the bedrooms can accommodate the family comfortably. The boys are within ( 10 ) years of one another, so please keep that in mind as far as decor and needs. My favorite color is ( green ). The boys vary. I’ll let you figure out what works. I’d really love a/n ( serene ) ( white ) kitchen, and the boys talked about really wanting a cool ( library ). We have kind of a weird request. We’d also like exactly ( 3 ) ( yellow ) ( potted ivy ) /s. We’ll probably make ( 23 ) thousand more simoleons on the old place, so you can add that to my winnings for the ( clean ) total budget.”
You can tell she is wrapping up as she ( danced ) from her chair. “You are such ( introverted ) person to work with,” she says. “I hope you have an ( cozy ) day!”
I actually built this back in December, but I never got around to posting a blog entry for it until now. I’ve been on sort of a building hiatus for quite awhile now and I am trying to get back into the groove of things. I really miss building and decorating!
So may I present to you my Meloire Cafe and Residence…
This is a lot I build for A Town for Tessa, a neighborhood project honoring the passing of a little girl who loved The Sims. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed early October. So the community over at the Creative Corner section of The Sims 3 forums decided to band together to build this neighborhood as a tribute. If you would like to read more about it, here is the link to the forum thread.
This is my first build after getting the World Adventures expansion pack. Since I had already toured the destinations briefly during the simposium, the urge to build won over, so I had to get a small lot in real quick before I fully started to explore the game. I just had to use all the new asian items!
I am planning on doing a series of builds in Shang Simla, China. I started small for now. The next one I build there will be a bigger courtyard retreat. Anyway, hope you enjoy this little lot!
